Malwa maximises the fair experience

It's almost impossible to get around when Malwa starts up its machines in the forest at Elmia Wood. There is obviously a great interest in machine demo.
- "There is a certain difference compared to when we were here for the first time in 2009 with a small stand and our first newly developed machine. Today, we have a broad machine concept and a loyal customer base. Probably thanks to the fact that we stick to the original plan with machines for Malwa thinning; gentler thinning, without a cutting path network, value creation and more, says Malwa founder Magnus Wallin.

In the demo forest, harvesters, forwarders and combi machines are on the move. Curious visitors are quick to arrive to squeeze and feel as soon as the barriers after the demo are lifted.

Just before we get time with Magnus, he has received one of Malwa's major customers from Estonia who owns no less than six Malwa machines.

- Every second Malwa goes for export. Preferably to the Baltic States. Weak soils there require gentle machines. Latvia's urban forestry company decided that harvesters in thinning operations must not weigh more than nine tonnes. So all traditional machines would be replaced. Today they have 35 contracted machines in total - 27 of them are Malvas.

The fact that Malwa customers are growing is also a big and important difference compared to the start-up years.

- Back then we were happy to sell a machine. Now we want to qualify ourselves through a good product so that our customers will choose Malwa next time too. And perhaps expand with more machines. We try to understand the everyday life of entrepreneurs. The machine must work.

Generation 5 of the 560 series

In the stand you will find the electric combi harvester (built on 560 C) which was a big news last Elmia Wood.

- We are continuing to work on it together with partners, for example by making the hydraulic system more energy efficient. It is a concept machine and a good way to calibrate what the market wants," says Magnus.

Listening to users is central to Malwa's development work.

- Our big news at Elmia Wood 2025 is that we are launching generation 5 of the Malwa 560 series. The focus of the development work is driver comfort and productivity. We have based our work on our customers' wishes and suggestions for improvement, says Magnus Wallin.

This includes a new cab with a more spacious working environment and smarter instrument placement, a wider floor and improved visibility. New waist lock for improved mobility and stability. The hydraulic system provides greater precision and efficiency, which improves performance and lowers fuel consumption.

- It's fantastic to see the great interest in our machines. It has taken time to earn it.
