At Elmia Wood there are many important topics to discuss. One of them is the spruce bark beetle. The eight-toothed spruce bark beetle is one of the most serious bark beetle pests in our European spruce forests and Sweden, where it continues to cause major problems, is not spared.
Friday’s politicians’ debate attracted a large audience to the stage at Wood Square. All the parties in Sweden’s Riksdag were represented except the Green Party, which declined to participate.
With more than 260 exhibitors from 22 different countries, the fair has products that interest almost everyone. And there are masses of innovations that visitors are crowding to see.
Today the gates opened for Elmia Wood 2022 in Bratteborg south of Jönköping. It was a fantastic start with many visitors. The fair was opened by Sweden’s Minister for Rural Affairs, Anna-Caren Sätherberg. “The importance of forests for the economy, jobs, climate and recreation cannot be underestimated".
The forest industry is hugely important to both the national economy and our ecosystem’s biodiversity. The question is: how can we help the forest to thrive while we also utilise its resources? At the world’s leading forestry fair, Elmia Wood in Jönköping on 2 – 4 June, this topic will be discussed by top industry professionals and representatives from Sweden’s political parties and industries.
Elmia Subcontractor has come a long way. From a meeting place for subcontractors, to an innovation arena where industry news is not only showcased - but created. Now the fair is getting a new look that will strengthen its position as the heart of the manufacturing industry and at the same time signal that this is where the industry gets oxygen, energy and power to move forward.
With just over a month left until Elmia Wood, the programme has now been finalised. This year we see a stronger starting field than ever, featuring interesting speakers and debaters with a common focus: future innovation and sustainable forestry.

When the Elmia Wood forestry fair opens its doors again on 2 June it will have an exciting new feature: Let’s talk – a meeting place of interested and committed guest speakers discussing innovative and sustainable forestry. The debaters will include prominent Swedish and European politicians plus experts in the forest industry.

This year's Elmia Subcontractor will be moved forward by one week and will take place over the period 15-17 November. This also means that, from Autumn 2022, the fair will be held over three days.
